Summary

The Local Truck Driver will be responsible for the delivery and retrieval of 53' dry vans and flat beds, within 150mi of Jacksonville, FL. The Local Driver will complete multiple deliveries each shift, not to exceed 14 hours, but usually around 10 hours. This position is mostly Drop and Hook and no touch freight; tractors are 10 speed manual transmissions and automatic transmissions; trailers are 53’ dry vans, walking floor, and flat beds, which require strapping.

Communication with dispatch is critical to the completion of the daily schedule.

Requirements

• Experience operating 10 speeds (no automatic restrictions)


• Willing to learn how to operate PTOs for walking floor trailers.


• Must be mechanically inclined.


• Must be familiar with using ELD’s and pre and post trip inspections.


• Must be willing to work with forward and rear facing camera systems.


• Experience pulling and strapping flat beds


• Experience pulling 53' dry vans


• Minimum age of 23


• 1-year CDL-A driving experience within past 3 years


• Must Possess a valid license to operate a commercial motor vehicle


• Must pass a DOT Physical from a nationally registered DOT approved physician


• Has not ever been disqualified to drive


• Can successfully complete a DOT road test


• PSP report scores of 10 or below in the past 3 years. Any score above 10 will require approval from the 48forty Solutions Team


• No more than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years


• Candidates with experience in logistics, warehouse, OTR, Over-the-Road, CDL Class A License, Truck and Trailer, preferred
